Vision--God is Doing a New Thing

The era of the competitive divided church is over. Friendship and trust is the new foundation. The groups that can link arms and share resources are the ones that will thrive.

I'm excited about the potential of the EXPO, not because it points families to options that disciple their kids, not because it is the first big step toward a regional community, not because I get to see so many of my favorite people even though those things are all true and wonderful. I am excited about the EXPO because it lays the groundwork for the new move of God in this area; it is a model for what can happen when a group of Christian Leaders truly care about the best interest of the community. Referrals shared resources, collaborations, and needs being met are the natural outpouring of these relationships. It is a work of God. It is the praise of my heart.

Outreach ideas:

  • Have a movie night for free in your auditorium for the community. Send letters/care packages to troops. Have a community food drive. Have a community blood drive. Organize a community healthcare event. Allow the local school district to hold meetings at your facility. Establish a computer center at your facility for after-school learning. Conduct a gasoline "buy-down" where you offset the cost of fuel for people. Have a Babysitting night where your staff and volunteers will watch children dropped off at your business. Provide clothes to schools for low income students or other places. Organize a community clean-up event. Provide backpacks stocked with school supplies to unprivileged elementary school. Bring coffee, donuts, and snacks to local schools - thanking teachers.

Please pray for the communities impacted in New Orleans.
