Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:

We still taking waiting list signups for the Rebuild of the Palisades and Malibu sponsored by Habitat for Humanity later this month. Contact Rick Bisetti at habitat@sp-apostle.org if interested.

Another great service opportunity is also coming up. One simple act can make an extraordinary difference: giving blood can help save a life.

We are partnering with UCLA for our quarterly Blood Drive, and we need your help. Our goal is to fill every available appointment—and we especially want to welcome new donors.

If you are able to give blood, please consider signing up. And if you have donated before, bring a friend! A personal invitation may be all it takes for someone to become a first-time donor.

This is a wonderful and very practical way for us to live our faith: to give something of ourselves so that someone else might have life.

Please sign up online here or find it in the bulletin and the sign in front of the Church.

Give blood. Bring a friend. Help save a life.

Another way to serve is prayer. Every year the Archdiocese of Los Angeles holds a special Mass in Recognition of All Immigrants. With so much turmoil in our country and ever-changing federal immigration enforcement actions, we unite in prayer for those living in fear and for immigration reform.

Join Archbishop Gomez at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Sunday, September 20th at 3:30pm.

Ahead of the service, the cathedral has installed a chapel, Ribbons of Prayer. People may write the name of someone affected by immigration on a ribbon to be included at mass. Those unable to attend in person can submit names and prayer petitions online through the LA Catholics Ribbons of Prayer or write your intention at our Our Lady of Guadalupe altar. Parishioners from our Outreach Team will bring them to the mass on the 20th.

Peace and blessings,

Father Gil
