Canal Sea Level Rise

Celebrate SF Climate Week with Sustainable San Rafael, the Canal Alliance, Multicultural Center of Marin, and the City in a special Climate Change Action Plan Implementation update on how the Canal plans to cope with sea level rise--and how the results will impact the whole of San Rafael.


City Climate Resilience Manager Kate Hagemann and others will give background on one of the most challenging impacts of climate change, and preview some of the preparations being considered and how they might be paid for. Sara Aminzadeh, CA Natural Resources Agency Deputy Director, will lead off.


With essential infrastructure like highways, treatment plants, and affordable housing under threat, it's a good time to start thinking collectively about how all of us are at risk and how we can share in the solutions and the expense. Limited space.
