Chinese Community Meeting

There will be a Police Community Relations Meeting for the Chinese community at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at Taraval & 28th in San Francisco.

Safety Tip

If approached by a stranger, maintain a safe distance; usually an arm’s length plus a foot. Always use your best judgment when confronted by someone you don’t know.

Sgt. Kin Lee Builds Community with the Golden Rule

He grew up in the Richmond District, the son of Chinese immigrants who dreamed of a better life for themselves in San Francisco. 

For Sgt. Kin Lee of the San Francisco Police Department’s (SFPD) Community Engagement Division, it was this experience of growing up in an immigrant Asian community that sparked his interest in becoming a police officer.

Here’s a sobering fact: According to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), traffic collisions are the leading cause of death among children ages 5 to 14; more than 500 are killed and 95,000 are injured annually.
