Happy December!

And here we are...the last month of 2024. We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving (for those that celebrate) and took a minute to count your blessings. It's not really about the food on the table but rather the people sitting around it.

Your blessings include your loved ones, your health, your opportunities and the gift of another day. Having a grateful heart improves your life. Having joy and a positive attitude improves your life. Having a nervous system free from spinal misalignment (vertebral subluxation) improves your life.

We recently had the "Safety Pin Cycle" posted on the white board in the office. In a nutshell, when you are well adjusted, the circuit is closed and the body functions normally and has a sense of ease. When you are subluxated the body struggles, whether you can perceive it or not, and there is a sense of dis-ease. The circuit is open or dis-connected and the body malfunctions. It does not matter if you feel pain or discomfort. Your body always functions better with a healthy nerve supply.

So what happens if you have been diagnosed with a medical ailment. It still makes sense to get checked and adjusted as needed so the body functions at its best. Do we treat or diagnose conditions? No, but it's always in your best interest to improve your circumstances. Eat right, sleep well, have a positive attitude, pray and get adjusted.

See you on your next visit.

The Safety Pin Cycle

Safety Pin Cycle:

For the sake of simplicity, Doctors of Chiropractic refer to the “Brain -Body” connection as the “Safety Pin Cycle.”

Each brain cell has a specific function of communicating to the body through special “message” lines called nerves. A perfectly functioning nerve system is capable of transmitting the necessary messages for 100% optimum body function.

When a brain cell sends a message to a tissue cell, a function is performed based on the command sent to the tissue cell. After the tissue cell performs the requested function, it sends a message back to the brain cell to inform it of the action taken. Any disruption of this cycle results in malfunction, disease.

If a distorted signal is sent to the tissue cell, or if a distorted signal is sent back to the brain cell, malfunction is manifested. If this malfunction is left uncorrected, disease results. Cancer is a perfect example of the body failing to communicate properly with cells growing out of control!

Vertebral subluxation (spinal nerve pressure) results in abnormal nerve signals (distorted messages). Chiropractors are the only specialists trained to analyze, locate, and correct vertebral subluxation!

“Interference to the nervous system results in permanent damage in a short period of time, and therefore, Chiropractic cares should begin at birth on a preventative basis.”

Exactly what diseases and conditions can a chiropractor cure?

Well, really a chiropractor can't cure anything. I think we should rephrase that question to say, exactly what diseases or conditions can be caused either totally or in part by vertebral subluxation? As we said in the previous question, a vertebral subluxation interferes with virtually every function of the body so that it can be a contributory cause of virtually any sickness or condition. Every vertebral subluxation is extremely serious. This is why, when this was recognized over 100 years ago, the profession of chiropractic was formed for the sole purpose of addressing and bringing about the correction of these vertebral subluxations that can cause so much, not only disease conditions, but many other malfunctions in the human body as well. Imperfections of every level of performance.

The Orchestra

Most people who have never played in an orchestra may not have an in-depth understanding of the nuances involved in creating harmony in a musical performance.

First, all of the instruments must be in tune and tuned to one another.

Second, all the players must execute the right notes at the right time.

To further create the beautiful music, the musicians must know when to play loudly or softly, how fast and how slow, and finally, they must know when to stop playing or rest.

All bands and orchestras follow the lead and cues of a conductor. The conductor holds the "score" or master sheet of music that contains all of the various instruments' parts. All the musicians must pay strict attention to and follow the direction of the conductor.

The human body functions a lot like an orchestra. The various parts of the body are like each of the players, the nerve system is like the conductor, and the innate intelligence of the body is like the score or master sheet of music/information.

The innate intelligence uses the nerve system to tell our body parts how to work in harmony with one another. It tells parts when and how to work and more importantly when to slow down or stop working for a while in order to keep balance.

The intricate workings of the human body are truly amazing. Our health and well-being depends upon all of our body functions working in a state of balance or harmony. This balance can only be maintained when our innate intelligence can do its job properly - that is without interference.

Vertebral subluxations interfere with "our conductor" by not allowing adequate expression of the innate intelligence that is carried throughout the nerve system. This is basically a disconnection between the brain and the body. This improper communication between our innate intelligence and our body leads to disharmony within us.

Keeping your spine checked regularly and adjusted when needed helps to make sure you are free of the harmful effects of vertebral subluxation and that your brain-body connection is as close to 100% as possible. Keep your body in harmony and you will be making beautiful "music" for years to come.

Be sure to have your family checked today so you can begin to experience more LIFE.

The pencil maker

A pencil maker taught the pencil 5 important lessons just before putting it in the box.

1. Everything you do will always leave a mark.

2. You can always correct the mistakes you make.

3. What is important is what is inside of you.

4. In life, you will undergo painful sharpening, which will only make you better.

5. To be the best pencil, you must allow yourself to be held and guided by the hand that holds you.

We all need to be constantly sharpened. This parable may encourage you to know that you are a special person, with unique talents and abilities. Only you can fulfill the purpose which you were born to

accomplish.

Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot be changed and, like the pencil, always remember that the most important part of who you are, is what's inside of you.
