Happy February!

Ah, the month of "Love" has arrived. We associate this month with Valentine's Day but is that in our best interest?

Yes, we should acknowledge our significant others, but shouldn't we show them our love and appreciation every day of the year. Yes, we should buy gifts for our children, but shouldn't they know we love them regardless of the price tag? Yes, we should pause from our fast paced life to acknowledge those that we care about, but do we need a date on the calendar to remind us to do this?

The word "Love" has many meanings. Saying "I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee" does not have the same meaning as "I love my family and friends". Certainly, the level of commitment is not the same.

We love providing chiropractic to you and your family. Our commitment to you is unwavering. We recognize that we are all living life at one hundred miles per hour and much like your car, your performance is best when in alignment. Regardless of aches or pains, your body always functions better when you are free from spinal misalignments that limit your performance. A fellow chiropractor once said that our hands are an extension of our hearts. That is absolutely true not just for the chiropractic adjustment but for everything else that we do.

It is our honor and pleasure to provide chiropractic adjustments to you and your family. We are here to serve you. We thank you for your commitment, your referrals and your love and friendship.

See you on your next visit.

Subluxation and the circuit breaker

When your nerve system gets overloaded, it trips the circuit breaker in your garage. We call that a subluxation.

What happens if you don't change anything and simply go out to the garage and reset the breaker? It blows again, doesn't it? Same thing with your nerve system. Your job is to do your best to reduce physical, chemical and emotional stress in your life. Our job is to adjust your spine, reduce nerve system interference and permit a free flow of nerve communications between your brain and your body.

Simplicity

“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler."

- Albert Einstein

1.The body is a self-healing mechanism. Cut your finger; it heals. Cut the finger of a corpse; it does not. Life heals.

2.The nervous system is the master system of the body. Every aspect of the human experience is processed through the nervous system.

3.When there is interference with the function of the nervous system, not only can it compromise your physical well-being, but it also can have psycho-emotional consequences because it distorts your perception of the world and limits your ability to respond to the environment. When this happens to a significant number of people in a society, you have a sick society.

4.What we do as chiropractors is locate and correct the cause of that interference.

Motivation, Discipline, Commitment

So, this is typically the time when most people give up on their New Year's Resolutions.

If you have the discipline to break through, the initial 3-week period, many of the good habits you are trying to incorporate in your life have an increased chance of success. If you can make it past the 2-month mark (actually about 66 days according to research 1.) the habit has the best chance of sticking.

Continue on your path to improving your life. Seek out the motivation you need. Be committed to wanting constant improvement in your life. Know that we are here to support you.

Remember that the greatest thing about regular chiropractic care is that all you need to do is show up. We do all the work and help to make sure your visits are quick so you can get on with all the other things you need to do in your life.

See you on your next visit.
