Happy May!

Well, we are finally experiencing some warmer weather. The A/C was on for about twelve hours and I am tempted to put the heat back on just to get the chill out of the house. We'll see what happens.

May is one of my favorite months. It is filled with promise. Longer days, warmer weather, flowers blossoming and birds chirping are all very welcomed especially after the very rainy season we've experienced.

As you spend more time outside tending to your yards, your gardens, your vehicles and your outdoor exercise remember to be mindful of your spine. It is your backbone that protects your spinal cord and your central nervous system. Your brain and spinal cord are the master controller of every single cell and tissue in your body.

The good news...your spine is made of separate, movable segments that allow you to bend in all different directions. The bad news...your spine can become misaligned and affect the function of your nerve system.

Maintain your schedule of having your spine checked on a regular basis. You have one brain, one spine, one spinal cord, one body to live in. Take the very best care of it and you will function at your best.

See you on your next visit.

Forgetting to wind your wristwatch

We are fortunate that living things have an innate intelligence that strives to organize and reorganize our physiology in order to help us adapt and survive in an ever-changing environment.

It remembers to keep our heart beating, our lungs breathing, our immune system working, and trillions of other jobs we need to survive every second of our life.

We who forget to wind our watch would forget to wind our heart at night and not wake up in the morning.

It's a good thing this principle of organization and coordination called innate intelligence is always on the job.

It is also a good idea to make sure your spine is cleared of vertebral subluxations so that your innate intelligence is better able to do its job at its optimum potential.

Our objective

Chiropractic for EVERYONE!

“Chiropractic holds true that a vertebral subluxation, by its very existence, inhibits the body's ability to fully express its inherent potential. Every vertebral subluxation, by definition includes some alteration of nerve function from perfection to something else.

Vertebral subluxation is, at the very least, a change in the body's structure, and every scientist knows that a change in structure must inevitably result in a change in function. Therefore, all vertebral subluxations must result in altered function. In short, people with vertebral subluxations are better off without them.

It does not matter if the subluxated person has a disease or symptom. The presence or absence of disease is irrelevant.

EVERY human being, sick or well, newborn or aged, regardless of nutrition, exercise, occupation, sex, race, religion, and all other factors of life is better off without vertebral subluxation.”

A glass of water on a forest fire

From time to time, we get the question, "How often do I need to have my spine checked? " They wanted to show up once a month for a quick "crack" or only when something hurts. The response: "It's like trying to put out a forest fire with a glass of water... your intention is right, but the volume is lacking."

Yes, one adjustment in a lifetime is better than none. But if you really want to reap all the benefits that chiropractic care offers, consistency is the key.

People want to do the minimum work needed to get the maximum results. It's human nature. Quick fix solutions, drive through windows and get rich quick schemes all appeal to that part of our brain that wants results right now. And temporarily covering up symptoms or doing away with offending body parts is not an effective solution.

Research by Tapio Videman, MD has shown that when subluxations are left uncorrected for as little as two weeks, and then corrected (spinal adjustment), there remains some permanent degeneration in the joint. It never goes back to 100%.The reason we check your spine weekly is largely due to this research. If we checked your spine on a once a month basis and you did something that created a vertebral subluxation between visits, the damage to your spinal joints would have some permanence before you got back to the office. Same thing with every three weeks and every two weeks. Outside of checking your spine every moment of every day, once a week spinal checks assure that you will spend the most time free of subluxation and functioning at peak performance.

See you on your next visit.
