Happy November!

Hello November! We are nearing the end of 2025 and there is so much to be thankful for and so much more to accomplish before the end of the year.

Take a look at your goals from January and see which ones you have achieved and which still need some attention. Prioritize the most important ones and set them in motion. The hardest part is starting. You can do it. Add the ones not met to your list for 2026 if they are still goals that you hold important.

Part of my goals were to take some time to relax and enjoy my family, my friends and my surroundings. We have managed to do something fun and fulfilling almost every month. It didn't have to be something expensive or something requiring a lot of planning. It sometimes was simple, like taking a walk on the boardwalk or sitting on the deck and enjoying a cup of coffee and listening to the birds.

As the leaves become more colorful and the seasons change, pause and appreciate all that is around you. Rejoice in the pumpkin flavored everything, if that's your jam. Open your windows and get some fresh air. Take a walk. Embrace change.

Speaking of change, our building has been sold. The new owner will be making improvements to the roof, the siding, the overhead lighting, the landscaping and the parking lot. It may be a little messy in the beginning but, in the end, we are confident the property will look so much better. We hope there will not be much inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Change is good! He's investing in his building.

Now's a great time to invest in yourself and continue to enjoy life. Your body always functions at its best with a nerve system free from interference. If you haven't been in, now's a great time to restart and refocus on you.

See you on your next visit.

A lightbulb on your forehead

We're often asked by our practice members what specifically caused them to become subluxated.

We’re exposed to hundreds if not thousands of types of stress every day that could overcome the internal resistance of the body and contribute to vertebral subluxations.

If we had a light bulb on our forehead that turned on when we were subluxated, we might know what stress (physical, chemical, emotional) was the final one -- the "last straw" -- that finally overcame our body’s resistance and caused the vertebral subluxation.

We could then go to the chiropractor whenever our light bulbs were on.

Unfortunately, we do not have that light and we cannot know when we are subluxated, because there are no symptoms associated with a vertebral subluxation.

So rather than waiting for enough damage to accumulate in a way that produces some noticeable problem, we determine that it is wise to have our spine checked for vertebral subluxations regularly by a chiropractor. That removes any interference to normal body function and gives us an opportunity to live to our fullest potential in life.

Thank you to Stamatis Tsamoutalidis, DC for this article.

Chiropractic Philosophy

Chiropractic may very well be one of the least understood philosophies of life and health. It is based upon a few very simple ideas.

The body is designed with an inborn ability to maintain itself in a state of proper function. A newborn baby may seem small, fragile and helpless, but within that body is the ability to make food into living tissue, to heal cuts and bruises, to adapt to changes in the environment, to produce the chemicals necessary to perform every bodily function, to fight off invading organisms, to live as much as 100 or more years, in short, to lead a healthy, productive life.

The brain and nerve system are the primary tools by which we attain proper function, what we commonly call health. Every organ, gland and cell in the body depends upon messages carried to and from the brain in order to function in a coordinated manner so that each part can benefit the whole of the body producing a full and abundant life.

Interference in the nerve system reduces the body's ability to function in a coordinated manner. While a corpse has a brain and nerve system, it does not have life, there is no power or energy flowing over the nerve system. Similarly, a paralyzed person has lost function due to injury to the nerve system. Even slight damage to the delicate and vital nerve system can reduce the body's ability to function at its fullest potential.

A spinal misalignment that interferes with the nerve system (called a vertebral subluxation) creates a reduction in coordinated function. Slight misalignments of the bones of the spine caused by everyday, common activities can interfere with the ability of the nerve system to carry messages that are necessary for the successful accomplishment of those everyday activities, not the least of which is the attainment of maximum health.

Chiropractors correct vertebral subluxations. The single objective of the chiropractor is to locate and correct vertebral subluxation in adults and children so that families and entire communities are able to express life at a higher level.

If you and your family are not seeing a chiropractor regularly, you are not doing all you could for your life and health.

Thanks to our friend, the late Joe Strauss, D.C. for this article.

Chiropractic quote

“Chiropractic holds that a vertebral subluxation, by it's very existence, inhibits the bodies ability to full express it's inherent potential. Every vertebral subluxation, by definition, includes some alteration of nerve function from perfection to something else.”
