Happy NOVEMBER!

November is a time to reflect and appreciate the beauty that is around us. The colorful leaves, which will eventually be shed, and the brisk air are upon us. Just as the trees release their leaves to come back stronger and more beautiful in the Spring, it is in our best interest to shed that which burdens us so that we, too, can come back stronger and more beautiful.

We encourage you to give thanks for your blessings and appreciate the people who are around you. Let them know they are important to you.

We encourage you to better take care of yourself and this sometimes means saying "No" so that you can relax and not be overwhelmed. So in NOvember, set a limit to frivolous spending. Maybe there will be better food choices in NOvember if you restrict your sugar intake. You get the idea.

Say "yes" to taking care of yourself and making you a priority. Sleep well. Eat well. Keep moving on a daily basis and, of course, get adjusted on a regular basis.

See you on your next visit.

How to share CHIROPRACTIC with others:

What to expect on your first visit

When referring friends and family to our office, do you ever find it challenging to share what to expect on your first visit at our office? Feel free to share this newsletter with them!

Whether you've been to a chiropractor before or if this is your first chiropractic experience, you will be greeted with a warm smile by Dr. Daria or Dr. Joe.

After signing in, we will spend a few minutes getting to know each other. We'll talk about what chiropractic is, what we do and why. And we'll talk about what you are looking for from your family's chiropractor.

Why do we do this? To make sure that you and your family are in the right place. Example: If you're looking to buy a washer and dryer and we're selling color TVs, neither of us is going to have a great experience. If you're looking for something other than what we offer at SFCC, we will gladly refer you to someone else who may. Really.

Next, we'll ask you to complete only the paperwork we absolutely need. After our chiropractic exam, we will share our findings with you and outline our recommendations for care. If, during the course of your exam, we determine the need for additional information (imaging studies, for example), we will assist you in getting that information.

During your adjustment, you may hear a "popping" sound from your spinal joints. Nothing to be alarmed by. This is simply a release of gases within the joint similar to when you crack your knuckles.

After your adjustment, you will be given some paperwork to take home and review. You can expect to be here from 30-45 minutes for your initial visit. And that's the last appointment you'll ever make with us!

For all subsequent visits, we have an open adjusting policy whereby you can come in any time during regular hours. You'll be given a calendar listing all of the dates and times we are open each month by e-mail. If our recommendations are to see you three times weekly, pick any three days we are open and come in. It's that simple. Regular visits take less time than your initial visit. We respect your time and understand the constantly changing dynamic of family commitments.

Welcome!

1 Workout - 1 Skipped Dessert:

"How much weight would you lose if you worked out once and skipped a dessert today?"

Probably not much, right?

In fact, if you are truly interested in weight loss or a fitness program, regular exercise and better nutrition must become a way of life.

How much would you benefit from one adjustment or an adjustment every once in a while? Again, probably not that much.

Normal body function and Life are processes, not events.

Anything related to proper body function -- eating right, proper exercise, proper rest, a good mental attitude, proper hygiene, etc., -- must be done or kept up regularly to experience the true benefits.

Chiropractic is no different.

Regular spinal checkups and adjustments over a long period of time help to restore normal alignment in your spinal column, helping to reestablish the proper connection between brain and body, allowing the body to work better.

Physical, chemical, and emotional stress are constant and attack the spine throughout your whole life. Regular spinal checkups and adjustments should be a part of human maintenance that needs to be done from birth to death. It will have the potential to help your body function better, potentially improving all aspects of your life, allowing you to live a richer and fuller life.

Chiropractic Philosophy

Chiropractic may very well be one of the least understood philosophies of life and health. It is based upon a few very simple ideas.

The body is designed with an inborn ability to maintain itself in a state of proper function. A newborn baby may seem small, fragile and helpless, but within that body is the ability to make food into living tissue, to heal cuts and bruises, to adapt to changes in the environment, to produce the chemicals necessary to perform every bodily function, to fight off invading organisms, to live as much as 100 or more years, in short, to lead a healthy, productive life.

The brain and nerve system are the primary tools by which we attain proper function, what we commonly call health. Every organ, gland and cell in the body depends upon messages carried to and from the brain in order to function in a coordinated manner so that each part can benefit the whole of the body producing a full and abundant life.

Interference in the nerve system reduces the body's ability to function in a coordinated manner. While a corpse has a brain and nerve system, it does not have life, there is no power or energy flowing over the nerve system. Similarly, a paralyzed person has lost function due to injury to the nerve system. Even slight damage to the delicate and vital nerve system can reduce the body's ability to function at its fullest potential.

A spinal misalignment that interferes with the nerve system (called a vertebral subluxation) creates a reduction in coordinated function. Slight misalignments of the bones of the spine caused by everyday, common activities can interfere with the ability of the nerve system to carry messages that are necessary for the successful accomplishment of those everyday activities, not the least of which is the attainment of maximum health.

Chiropractors correct vertebral subluxations. The single objective of the chiropractor is to locate and correct vertebral subluxation in adults and children so that families and entire communities are able to express life at a higher level.

If you and your family are not seeing a chiropractor regularly, you are not doing all you could for your life and health.

Steve Jobs' last words

He died a billionaire at 56 yrs of Pancreatic Cancer and  here are his last words on the sick bed:

“I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others' eyes my life is an epitome of success.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.

You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost - "Life".

When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading - "Book of Healthy Life".

Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.

Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends...

Treat yourself well. Cherish others.

As we grow older, and hence wiser, we slowly realize that wearing a $300 or $30 watch - they both tell the same time...

Whether we carry a $300 or $30 wallet/handbag - the amount of money inside is the same;

Whether we drive a $150,000 car or a $30,000 car, the road and distance is the same, and we get to the same destination.

Whether we drink a bottle of $300 or $10 wine - the hangover is the same;

Whether the house we live in is 300 or 3000 sq ft - loneliness is the same.

You will realize, your true inner happiness does not come from the material things of this world.

Whether you fly first or economy class, if the plane goes down - you go down with it...

Therefore.. I hope you realize, when you have mates, buddies and old friends, brothers and sisters, who you chat with, laugh with, talk with, have sing songs with, talk about north-south-east-west or heaven and earth, .... That is true happiness!!

Thank you for your referrals

We would like to thank all of you who have referred friends and family members to our office for care recently. We look forward to serving both them, and you, in the future.

Rest assured we will do all that we can to honor the trust you've place in us

See you on your next visit.

Ten rules for happy living

B. J. Palmer quotes

(the Founder of Chiropractic)

BJ PALMER

“The only failure one man should fear, is the failure to do his best.”

While other professions are concerned with changing the environment to suit the weakened body, chiropractic is concerned with strengthening the body to suit the environment.

We never know how far reaching something we may think, say or do today will affect the lives of millions tomorrow.
