As a dentist practicing in one of the six Bay Area counties under the shelter-in-place order, we write to inform you of a new requirement that applies to dental offices.
The shelter-in-place order updated March 31 requires that:
all Essential Businesses must prepare and post by no later than 11:59 p.m. on April 2, 2020 a “Social Distancing Protocol” for each of their facilities in the County frequented by the public or employees. The Social Distancing Protocol must be substantially in the form attached to this Order as Appendix A. The Social Distancing Protocol must be posted at or near the entrance of the relevant facility and shall be easily viewable by the public and employees. A copy of the Social Distancing Protocol must also be provided to each employee performing work at the facility. All Essential Businesses shall implement the Social Distancing Protocol and provide evidence of its implementation to any authority enforcing this Order upon demand.”
Dentists and dental offices are considered “Essential Business” under this order and will need to have this Social Distancing Protocol completed and posted. To complete a compliant Social Distancing Protocol, you will need to:
Provide the form to employees
Post it near the entrance to your office in easy view
Be able to provide to any enforcing authority who may ask to see it
