These public roundtables were an opportunity for investors, regulators, and members of the investment community to share their experiences with SEC staff and discuss topics that are important to them, such as securities fraud and feedback on SEC rulemaking.

Held on Wednesday, March 27 at the University of North Georgia (Dahlonega, GA), and Thursday, March 28 at Dalton State College (Dalton, GA), both schools had a large number of first-generation and minority college students in attendance.

ERBI Issue Brief Explains Retirement Savings Plan Change

SECURE 2.0 has many provisions aimed at improving the retirement plan system. One provision within this legislation, focused on increasing the savings of lower-income workers, is changing the current Saver’s Credit to a match. In this provision, the federal government would make a matching contribution to a qualified retirement plan for lower-income workers. The match would be directly added to the individual’s qualified retirement plan after the worker applied for the match. This provision is scheduled to go into effect in 2027.
