SFEPD HBCU Financial Literacy Bowl

The SFEPD HBCU Financial Literacy Bowl is back for 2026! Open to SFEPD Student Ambassador programs, the competition brought together teams from participating HBCUs for a two-phase challenge to determine which team would rise to the top as the most financially savvy.

In the first round, held virtually, 12 teams representing the following HBCUs went head-to-head in a fast-paced financial literacy quiz:

  • Alabama A&M University
  • Alabama State University
  • Benedict College
  • Florida Memorial University
  • Grambling State University
  • Howard University
  • Livingstone College
  • Oakwood University
  • Southern University and A&M College
  • Tennessee State University
  • Texas Southern University
  • Tuskegee University

After an intense competition, Tuskegee University claimed first place, followed by Southern University and A&M College in second and Grambling State University in third. These three teams and their faculty advisors will advance to the live championship round at the 18th Annual Financial Literacy Leadership Conference on Friday, October 23.

Generously sponsored by the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) and FICO, the final showdown will feature challenging questions, cash prizes, plaques, and plenty of school pride. The excitement continues as these three HBCU teams compete for the 2026 SFEPD HBCU Financial Literacy Bowl championship!
