HUGE Step Foward for Bondeau—

Community Council Formed !

HELP Foundation Returns to Bondeau for Leadership Training

A team of 3 professionals, coordinated by Dr. Jean HELP Foundation director, returned to Bondeau March 22-29 following their January Community Assessment. The Team facilitated two Community Meetings to explain the new leadership structure to elect their own leaders and then ratify the first Bondeau Council (see photos above. Not pictured are Jacques Ricot Thomas, Marie Michel Edouard, and Ricot Jeannot).

The Team then led 4 days of intensive Leadership Training for the newly ratified 9 Bondeau Council members along with 11 other potential future community leaders. Some of the topics taught were:

  • Accountability
  • What does a Council do?
  • What are the roles?
  • Being unified as Council & community
  • What is a leader?
  • Honesty – truth
  • Accountability / responsibility
  • Budgeting
  • Planning – being realistic
  • How to plan a project

Bondeau Leaders creatively developed a Summer Camp in 2024 to offer

constructive opportunities for children & teens during summer break.

In 2024 and 2025, Summer Camp was more than successful...

it was transformational for the kids and the community.

DESKS NEEDED for NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL

It's gorgeous! What an amazing gift to Bondeau... 4 completely NEW buildings for Primary Grades 1- 8 including a new Administration Building for the campus, a Computer Lab, and ALL of it funded in full by Food For The Poor donors!

Now all it needs are student desks and teacher desks!

Can you help equip these beautiful new classrooms?

POTABLE WATER COMES TO BONDEAU!

An amazing, long-awaited accomplishment!

Finally after 17 years, a sustainable source of potable water is now available to the people of Bondeau! Thank you Food For The Poor for enabling this to happen through your funding and contractor, Healing Waters!

This high-tech kiosk purifies the existing non-potable well water by Reverse Osmosis. Three Bondeau community members have been trained to maintain, monitor, and operate the system. The purified water will be sold at an affordable rate to the community of Bondeau and beyond making the system self-sustaining plus provide a small amount of income to the community while creating 3 jobs for community members.

THANK YOU Food the Poor and Healing Waters!
