At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City and County of San Francisco impressively provided for the health and safety of those living on our streets by acquiring hotels and other accommodations. Now, with an eye at recovery and a long term solution, the City is launching a program to transition those clients "From Hotels to Housing." This week's "Online Briefing for Faith Leaders" welcomes Shireen McSpadden, Executive Director of the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, who will present an overview of the City’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic for people experiencing homelessness and long term plans to move from crisis response to recovery, including the acquisition of new housing and the expansion of new models of temporary shelter.
