The San Francisco Interfaith Council shares in the loss of our beloved founder, past chair and matriarch of interfaith relationships in San Francisco Rita R. Semel. Rita has been the heartbeat and soul of the SFIC since its inception, a bigger-than-life presence whose countless contributions to the betterment of society comprise the incredible legacy she bequeaths to our City and beyond. Her memory will continue to inspire and navigate our interfaith efforts as we build upon her decades of tireless good works.
At this fragile time we extend heartfelt prayers to Rita's daughter Elisabeth Semel, her husband Jim and to her Resnick/Karlin family, all whom she loved and diligently cared for her. We also send our deepest sympathies to her Congregation Emanu-El spiritual family.
MAY HER MEMORY BE A BLESSING!
In honoring Rita's loving interfaith spirit, we ask that you please remember her
in personal prayer and as you next gather in community for worship
A forthcoming invitation to a celebration of Rita's life will be announced
by her family and shared with the greater community
