Nurse's Corner...

Here are some disinfecting tips from the CDC to help stop the spread of germs in your house during this flu season. Remember, cold and flu viruses can survive on surfaces anywhere from a few hours to a few days.
  • Phones - 80% of phones in homes that have a child with the flu have the flu virus on them
  • Remote control - It's one of the most touched and least cleaned item in the house
  • Bathroom - 50% of all bathroom faucets test positive for viruses when someone has a cold or flu
  • Stuffed Animals - If it's not washable, keep it away from everyone for a few days to let viruses on its surface die
  • Sheets - These should be washed at high temperature with a color-safe bleach detergent

PLEASE NOTE THE CALENDAR FOR NEXT WEEK:

Full days of school on MONDAY and TUESDAY

This may have been one of the quickest Advent seasons I can recall!  Our teachers and students have worked diligently this week squeezing in as much academic time as possible.  I guess we all realize that the "short week excitement" may make it very difficult to focus next week!

We did have opportunities throughout the week to practice and rehearse for this evening's performance, "O Come Let Us Adore Him."  Our Kindergarten through Grade 5 students are prepared to sing their hearts out, as together we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
Please consider joining us, if you are able, at Holy Mass on Tuesday at 9 am (weather permitting of course),  as we kick-off a well deserved reprieve from school, by celebrating the Eucharist as a school family.  It is quite a moving experience  to witness our student body sing beautifully together after Communion and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.  Their angelic voices are a "must hear" at some point this school year.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers for our school.

Have a wonderful weekend!

~Mrs. Russo
