While it is a common myth that has been passed from table to table, the tryptophan in turkey is not fully responsible for the Thanksgiving Day food coma.  Although tryptophan does aid in the production of serotonin in the body which helps with sleep, it needs to be taken on an empty stomach.  The real culprit is the amount of food that people eat during this yearly feast.  The processing and digestion of all that food takes away blood from other parts of your body, including the brain, which causes people to feel tired and drowsy.   Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!  Let us continue to thank the Lord for our many blessings, and pray for those in need of hope and healing this holiday season.

Your donations to the St. Nick's Baskets are greatly appreciated!  Thanks to your generous donations, the raffle items next weekend will be great!  If you have not made a reservation to attend St. NIck's Breakfast, please do so soon, so we can plan accordingly.

Upon our return to school,  our students will have the opportunity to buy small Christmas gifts for their parents and siblings.  Our 8th graders will host a "Spirit of St. Nick Workshop" leading up to and through next weekend.  The Class of 2016 is working diligently to raise funds for their end of year festivities and graduation.  The workshop provides an opportunity to work together, have some holiday fun, and generate funds.
Have a wonderful long weekend and God bless-
