"Let us ask Mary to help us to respond to violence, to conflict and to war, with the power of dialogue, reconciliation and love. She is our mother: may she help us to find peace; all of us are her children!"
~Pope Francis
Please take the time to read this week's newsletter in its entirety, as it is bursting with important information and dates to mark on your calendars.

I hope that you enjoy this extended weekend with your children.  Our wonderful teachers will be attending two professional development sessions to reflect, learn and collaborate with the teachers from the Greater New Bedford Catholic Schools and the diocese.

It will be a super short week when we return... Please note:
NO GYM and NO SCHOOL MASS next week.

Have a good little break, and God bless.

ABSOLUTELY
THE LAST CALL!

One morning and two evening CORI Training Sessions have been conducted this school year.  There is one time slot that has not been offered, and that is.......
an AFTER SCHOOL session, which parents could take advantage of attending, with the convenience of having your child(ren) in our Extended Program.  Last chance CORI.... Friday 10/16 from 3:00-4:30 pm.

Don't risk not being able to chaperone a field trip or volunteer in the classroom...come to the ABSOLUTE final session at the school.

CORI sessions do take place every Tuesday evening at New Bedford CSS.... please see me for more details!

Fly on the Wall,
Heard
from the Hall...

I had the privilege of covering for Mrs. Jason in the Kindergarten classroom this week, and was witness to the following conversation....

Student:  "Mrs. O'Malley, my
crayon is not working and needs to be peeled."
Mrs. O:  "Oh, (name of student) these crayons are such a pain!  I wish they made them without wrappers!"
Student: "Mrs. O'Malley!  That would make the crayon be naked!"

Every day we are making progress to reach our GOAL

Many of our teachers are finding that Math problems are great "bell ringers" and  a perfect  way to start their day.  Varied problems on the board make for great review as well as effective  introductions to new concepts.
