Without a doubt, we all recall exactly where we were fourteen years ago, on this very date.  Not only was the New York skyline forever changed, but the lives of millions were permanently changed as well.
Our students (who were not even born yet) have been talking in their classrooms about the Twin Towers, the terrorist attacks, and the suicide mission.  Today our middle school students walked reverently to the 9/11 Memorial, that we are so fortunate to have right here in the Town of Acushnet.  For us as adults, the memories sting deeply, as we may even know people whose lives were directly impacted by the attacks or even experienced the loss of a loved one.  For our students, it has become part of a history book, a history lesson, that we do our best as parents and teachers to bring reality to and share our memories.
This past year, our family visited the 9/11 Memorial, and collectively agreed that every American should be encouraged to experience the exhibits and the emotions that emerge from "reliving" the dreaded day that has become such a significant part of our American history.
Let us continue to pray for peace in our world and remember that every day is a gift!

"The Great Balancing Act"

The schedules and structure that come with the start of a new school year are a welcome, yet often stressful experience.  The lazy days of summer come to a screeching halt when school resumes and begins to take a toll on family life.  Navigating a safe route through the demands of family life, a career, a spiritual life and time for oneself can be an extremely daunting and impossible task.  Staying on "the route" while maintaining sanity and not getting completely lost can sometimes seem impossible.  Next weekend, on Sunday, September 20th, the women of our parish, our faculty and our school are invited to attend an afternoon session titled, "The Great Balancing Act".  Guest speaker Jean Revil will shed some light on, offer some suggestions, and introduce our personal GPS systems to help us to find our way through an often times over scheduled, and some times unfulfilled lives.   Please refer to the linked informational flyer that further outlines the afternoon.  It is my hope that the women of our school family will seriously and prayerfully consider attending this event.
After a nice, short week,  our school year continues to move in an onward and upward direction!   With the recent break in the heat, a sense of relief will exist amongst our students (especially those on the second floor), and they will move full steam ahead with the curriculum.

Thank you, parents,  for your continued support of our school and its mission.

God bless and have a wonderful weekend!

This month, the 6th year of the Catholic Schools'

In this exciting program, Bonnie Harlow, a cellist with the New Bedford Symphony,

Although there were mixed reviews pertaining to this week's change in the Taco Salad, I did overhear a fourth grade girl saying:
