Rolling into Catholic Schools Week 2017!

A very special display is in the works for one of the days during Catholic Schools Week.  The project includes the use
of   100  empty paper towel rolls.  If you would kindly send empty rolls to the school for our project, it would be greatly appreciated.  A box will be placed in the foyer for empty roll collection.  Thank you, as always, for responding to our needs and sometimes unusual requests!
A message from...

Starting in February...."The Spartan Science Squad" will be visiting Catholic elementary schools to increase awareness and interest in the area of science for 4th and 5th graders through various demonstrations.

Adventures from the first week of 2017...
Welcome back and welcome 2017!  Judging by our students' enthusiasm and excitement upon their return on Tuesday, our families had wonderful breaks!  Students' conversations included the loads of fun they had, the many gifts they received, and the family time they enjoyed and appreciated.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for all of the wonderful gifts and goodies that appeared in my office during Christmastime! Your generosity and kindness is very much appreciated.

This month will be absolutely packed with academic achievement and fun for the whole family. Our annual middle school Science Fair will take place this coming Friday the 13th, and our Grade 6-8 students will "take the stage" to demonstrate their proficiency in the presentation of a science topic of their choosing.  The second annual National Junior Honor Society sponsored Middle School Game Night will take place that same evening and students will have the chance to celebrate their accomplishments with some fun!

A first attempt at an old tradition will take place on Saturday, January 21st, as we enjoy a Family Spaghetti Dinner. Please check your child's Friday Folder for more details and to make a reservation for the event.

The whirlwind of activity this month will be culminated by our annual Open House that will kick off a week celebrating the excellence of Catholic education. There are several events, a few field trips (for some) and plenty of fun for everyone currently being planned for CSW. Stay tuned for more details and schedule of events for Catholic Schools Week 2017.

Everything looked a bit brighter after our break, as high resolution, energy saving LED light bulbs were installed throughout the entire school building.  This improvement will result in energy and financial savings for our school.  The students noticed the change immediately and comments were heard from time to time about the new lights and how much better things appeared!

We are off to a great start... thank you for your continued support and prayers for our school!
Have a great weekend.

Fly on the Wall H eard from the Hall...
This week, I asked many, many students
about their vacations, their Christmases
and the best gifts they received.
The responses varied from  Legos to Iphones
and from  backpacks to ukeleles.
The most memorable conversation for me
was with a middle schooler:
Me: What was your best gift of Christmas?
Student:  I guess it would have to be all of the delicious food my mom prepared for Christmas dinner.
