We are excited to announce that we are preparing for an additional round of funding for the California Strategic Growth Council’s Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) and Community Resilience Centers (CRC) programs. In preparation for TCC Round 6 and CRC Round 2, we are seeking your input on proposed changes to the application process for Implementation Grants.
Proposed Application Process Revisions
We heard your feedback and we are revising our Implementation Grant application processes. The SGC Community Investments and Planning portfolio is seeking input on a proposal to simplify the application processes for the TCC and CRC programs. Our goal is to make the application process simpler and increase access for under-resourced communities. We would like your input on the proposed changes. Please review the attached document to learn more about the proposed changes to the application process. To provide comments, please fill out our feedback form by Friday, July 18.
Proposition 4 Update
Proposition 4 authorizes the State to borrow funding to support many programs across the state, including a few administered by the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation (LCI) and SGC. Two of SGC’s programs that are included in Proposition 4 are TCC and CRC. TCC and CRC anticipate that full program funding will be included in the June 2026 state budget and plan for applications to open in spring 2026.
The anticipated timeline for TCC Round 6 and CRC Round 2 is as follows:
- Fall 2025: SGC releases Draft Guidelines. Public comment period opens.
- Winter 2025: Public comment period closes
- Spring 2026: SGC opens applications
- Fall 2026: SGC closes applications
- First half of 2027: SGC announces awards
The timeline above is subject to change. We will provide an update as soon as details are confirmed. There will be additional opportunities to provide feedback on the Draft Guidelines during the public comment period this fall. To provide comments on the proposed application process please fill out our feedback form by Friday, July 18.
