Good evening, San Gabriel

As we approach the holiday season, we're happy to announce that the San Gabriel Police Department will be relaxing its overnight parking enforcement on select days during the holiday. You can read more about that here.

In addition, be sure to register for this year's Turkey Trot on November 17. Details on registration can be found here.

Finally, be sure to attend our Community Academy this Thursday at City Hall in Council Chambers from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is your chance to meet your local police officers and to ask questions. We'll also have free food and raffles available.

Now, here's what's making news for the week of November 14, 2018:
City Council approves new tourism and marketing district
By a 4-0 decision with Councilmember Costanzo recused from the vote, the City Council voted to approve the creation of a new marketing and tourism district for San Gabriel. You may recall that the City Council voted in July to form a contract with Civitas to create the rubric for a district that would allow businesses to organize and bring more customers to their destination using funds from hotel occupants.

You may read more about this and more in our wrap-up of our November 6 City Council meeting.
San Gabriel police to relax overnight
parking enforcement during the holidays
In the spirit of the holiday season, the San Gabriel Police Department will not be enforcing overnight parking on November 21, November 22, December 24, December 25, December 31 and January 1.

Normally, the City does not allow vehicles to be parked on the street from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. without a parking permit, which may be obtained from the Finance department. We hope you enjoy the holiday season. Happy holidays from the San Gabriel Police Department and the City of San Gabriel!
