Hello Families of New Students,
Research shows parent engagement improves student success—better attendance and grades, social emotional growth, and overall well-being!
At SGWS, we ask families to contribute volunteer hours to enrich our community:
- 30 hrs – 5 full days enrolled (max per family)
- 24 hrs – Equivalent of 4 full days
- 18 hrs – 3 full days
- 15 hrs – 5 half days
- 9 hrs – 3 half days
Opportunities: Posted weekly in the Tuesday Note under “Volunteer Opportunities.”
Tracking: Record hours in the FACTS Family Portal (instructions here online).
Work Days: We kindly request that 10% of hours be in service to our campus & grounds. It's so helpful for our school. Examples include Saturday work days, landscaping/ gardening, last day of school clean-up, and more.
Flexibility: Orientation, conferences, and class meetings count toward hours. Grandparents/friends may volunteer on your behalf. Home projects (baking, laundry, crafts) qualify. Hours can also be “bought out” at $30/hr if needed.
