Upcoming traffic changes on SH-16 begin next week

The Idaho Transportation Department will be shifting traffic and reducing lanes on State Highway 16 Sunday, Sept. 28 between the Boise River Bridge and State Highway 44.

What to expect:

Construction crews will begin shifting traffic on SH-16 Sunday, Sept. 28.

  • SH-16 will be reduced to one lane each way between the Boise River Bridge and SH-44.

  • Northbound SH-16 traffic will be shifted onto the southbound lanes.

  • Flaggers will direct traffic on SH-16.
  • SH-16 will open up near the intersection with normal traffic operations.

  • Speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

These lane closures will allow crews to prepare for and place concrete for SH-16 and build the northbound off-ramp for the new interchange.
