SHAbbat ParSHAt Vayikra
Shabbat Zachor
SHAbbat Candle Lighting: 5:51

Dear SHA Family,
SHAring two SHA moments from the week that was;
· I felt like making a shecheeyanu beracha Wednesday afternoon watching our first post-Covid-strictures, in-person Basketball game – did I say in-person!! Really, felt a bit surreal. Hoping and praying that the Covid situation continues to improve. Seeing our kids on the court was exhilarating!
· Thursday morning, we had a “Learning Leads to SHAction” with guest speakers addressing the Middle Schoolers about the situation in Ukraine and helping them plan what they can do, even as youngsters. One of the guests was my twin brother, Rabbi Reuben Poupko, zooming in from Montreal having just returned from the Polish – Ukrainian border on a rabbinic mission. Truly inspiring. Helping the students understand that to be a Jew is to help others. He shared his feelings of seeing Israeli Magen David Adom on the Polish border helping all the refuges. On the Zoom also were Hannah Miller, former Seattleite and Ezra Moses, a power couple who work for the Joint Distribution Committee, zooming from New York. They told their inspiring story of meeting in Odessa and making the decisions as young people to learn Russian and truly serve the Jewish people.
Mazel Tov to Rochelle and Eli Turgeman on the Boar Mitzvah of their son Moshe this Shabbat!
SHAbbat SHAlom,
