September 16, 2022 | 20 Elul 5782 Shabbat Parshat Ki Tavo Shabbat Candle Lighting: 7:00 pm Friday Dismissal Reminder 1:50pm A-M 1:55pm N-Z  Dear SHA Community,   This Shabbat is our Middle School Shabbaton. Many of our sixth, seventh and eighth graders will be gathering in Seward Park for a Shabbat program including an oneg at the Ben-Meir’s home, tefila, lunch at teachers’ homes, a fun program with Shinshinit Daniella and a special Seudah Shelisheit. The program will conclude with a special Motzei Shabbat that will include a barbecue and laser tag. Thank you to Mr. Natton Ben-Meir and to Rabbi Weiss and Mrs. Weiss for all of their work in planning this program.   This Shabbaton is our school’s first major informal extracurricular student program in many, many months. Programs like this Shabbaton are so important in building our community and connecting our students to their teachers and with their friends in the context of Shabbat.   This is the first of many extracurricular programs that we are planning this year – please stay tuned!   Shabbat Shalom, Rabbi Owen
