Dear SHA Family –

After stepping away for a few days it is wonderful to be back.

And…Here are three things I learned in Kuaui:

1.      Chickens are everywhere – yes chickens. It seems that the roof came off the coops during a hurricane in the 80’s and life has never been the same. Not sure if the takeaway is one can get used to almost anything or secure those roofs! Either lesson – very worthwhile.

2.      The world is a stunning place; the flowers, the trees and the water. We, in the Pacific Northwest absolutely live in a stunning part of the world and this another whole kind beautiful. Let’s be grateful.

3.      Being Jewish takes time and attention. Somethings are a challenge in Seattle, and some are really a challenge in Kuaui. That said, an important lesson to re-up our intentionality when it comes to our practice. Let’s not take our community for granted – we rely on each other for schools, shuls and support and that is a good thing.

NEW Weekly Grandparents/Grandfriends ParSHA Zoom Class

ParSHA - Grandparenting/Grandfriending The Jewish Way. This class will be a wonderful opportunity to learn together, build community, talk, and get to know each other.
