About the Editors of Youth Development

Peter A. Witt  holds the Bradberry Recreation and Youth Development Endowed Chair in the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University.

His major interests are evaluating outcomes of out-of-school time programs offered by school districts, recreation and park departments, and nonprofit agencies.  He is also involved in efforts to identify best practices and characteristics of successful youth development programs.

Linda L. Caldwell  is a Professor of recreation and park management in the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management at Penn State University. Linda received her PhD at the University of Maryland (1986).

Her research interests center on the intersection of youth, leisure, and health, both domestically and internationally, primarily focusing on developing youth competencies and healthy lifestyles and reducing risky behavior in leisure.
