Mayor Fulk invites you to join North Texas Food Bank’s 2021 Spread the Hope Peanut Butter Drive. Held each year in September, the campaign helps create awareness about food insecurity in North Texas. This year’s campaign goal is 300,000 pounds of peanut butter, collected physically and virtually.

Two ways to donate:
  1. Drop off your donation of regular size, plastic jars of peanut butter at Allen City Hall, 305 Century Parkway (First floor - Utility Billing)
  2. Purchase peanut butter virtually on Mayor Fulk's Spread the Hope campaign page. Donations will be delivered to North Texas Food Bank - Plano Campus.

North Texas Food Bank is the August 2021 recipient of Mayor Fulk’s Charity of the Month, a program which donates the Mayor’s $625 monthly Council stipend to a local charity. Last year, NTFB provided access to nearly 97 million meals to people in need across a 13-county service area. Learn more at ntfb.org.

Visits to Allen’s newest community park will soon get even easier! Spirit Park is adding 50 new parking spaces to offset the growing demand from players and spectators.

Traffic at Spirit Park has increased significantly since the addition of a new cricket pitch in November 2020. The additional parking will help ease congestion and discourage visitors from parking on the lawn or in nearby neighborhoods.

Funding for Spirit Park improvements was approved by Allen voters as part of the 2016 bond election. A competitive bid process helped the City secure the best price for this project of $266,010, which was $120,000 lower than the highest bid.

The 75-acre Spirit Park opened in October 2018. It features a lighted softball complex, cricket pitch, trails, public art and “The Hideout” playground.

Construction begins in early September. The new lot is expected to be ready for use in spring 2022.
