A Note from the CEO & Co-Founder

April marks an exciting season of building and anticipation here at Women of Prince George’s.

We are actively curating a powerful lineup of inspirational speakers and distinguished VIP guests for our upcoming 16th Annual WPG Women’s Conference. At the same time, we are preparing to honor an incredible group of Community Leader Awardees—women whose impact continues to uplift and transform our community.

The energy behind this year’s conference is growing, and we are looking forward to creating a truly meaningful experience for all who attend. We also invite corporations and organizations to join a mission that supports and empowers women in business and leadership.

Vendor opportunities are still available, but space is limited. If you’re seeking visibility and connection within a dynamic network, now is the time to secure your spot.

We’re building something special—and we’re excited to have you be part of it.

With purpose,

Stephanie Bolton James

Advisory Board Member Profile

Dr. Chantay P. Moye

Educator, Advocate, and Communications Strategist

WPG Board Member Advancing Equity and Community Voice

Biggest Win Since Joining WPG (Board Member Perspective)

Since joining WPG as a board member, my greatest win has been expanding my systems-level impact through governance, advocacy, and community leadership. I have joined an additional local board focused on workforce development, reinforcing my commitment to building equitable pathways to education, employment, and leadership. This role complements my ongoing work in communications, research, and community advocacy—ensuring that access, opportunity, and voice remain central to how organizations and communities move forward.

New Initiatives or Advocacy Efforts (Board & Community Focus)

Advocacy Through Authorship & Public Scholarship—I have authored several articles and coauthored a book chapter focused on advocacy, communication, and equity, intentionally elevating the lived experiences of disenfranchised communities. This work centers on increasing awareness of issues that directly affect local communities, particularly the persistent lack of access to women’s health care in Southeast Washington, DC, and parts of Prince George’s County. Through storytelling and research-informed insight, I aim to influence public dialogue and promote more equitable outcomes.

Workforce Development & Inclusive Leadership Advocacy – Through my service on a local workforce development board, I advocate for equitable access to education, training, and career advancement—especially for women and underrepresented populations. This work focuses on strengthening sustainable pipelines that connect people to opportunity and support long-term economic mobility.

Impact of WPG on Your Journey

WPG has strengthened my approach to leadership by reinforcing the importance of collaboration, accountability, and mission-driven governance. As a board member, WPG provides a platform to align advocacy, entrepreneurship, and community impact—ensuring that leadership remains both strategic and people-centered.

Why WPG Is a Valuable Resource for Entrepreneurs

From a board member’s perspective, WPG is a vital resource for entrepreneurs because it creates access—to trusted relationships, shared knowledge, and opportunities for growth. WPG fosters an ecosystem where women can build, scale, and lead while remaining grounded in equity, purpose, and community impact.

Upcoming Milestones or Collaborations

Looking ahead, I am focused on deepening cross-sector collaborations across workforce development, health equity, and leadership spaces. Upcoming milestones include continued authorship, speaking engagements, and board-level initiatives that align strategy with measurable, community-centered outcomes.

How the WPG Community Can Support Your Work

The WPG community can support my work by amplifying advocacy-centered storytelling, supporting workforce development efforts, and engaging in meaningful dialogue around access, equity, and opportunity—particularly for women and underserved communities. Collective visibility and collaboration remain powerful drivers of change.

Business Dilemma Scenario

A Business Dilemma: Scenario for Group Exercise

Every month, we present a realistic workplace challenge. After reading it aloud, have participants discuss:

  • What’s the core issue?
  • What are the possible actions?
  • What are the risks and consequences?
  • What would they do and why?

Toxic Conflict

Sybil and Trudy argue aggressively in a meeting. Ted tries to intervene, but Sybil leaves, and Trudy insults him.

_______

💬 Discussion Prompt: How do you de-escalate conflict? What’s the impact on team morale?

🧠 Suggested Answer to Business Dilemma Scenario

Answer: Ted did the right thing by intervening. The team should pause the meeting, address the behavior privately, and possibly involve HR or a mediator.

Strength is our legacy. Resilience is our power. Progress is our promise. We rise, we lead, we uplift — and we continue to thrive." Happy Women’s History Month.
