Business Predicaments

Small Business of the Month

Compassionate Solutions, LLC, is a nurse-founded healthcare staffing agency based in Bowie, Maryland, serving hospitals, clinics, and schools across the region. Founded by transformational servant leader Michelle Shaw, a nurse with 15 years of experience, she believes healthcare staffing should be seamless, reliable, and rooted in compassion.

With a 100% placement rate and a 100% client satisfaction score, Compassionate Solutions has built a reputation for delivering highly qualified nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff for hard-to-fill roles. According to Founder Michelle Shaw, over the past two years, we’ve expanded our impact, hosting two school health fairs in partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools and two community health fairs, providing health screenings, wellness education, and critical resources to hundreds of residents.

A notable program at Compassionate Solutions includes the offering of flexible staffing with specialty nurses to reduce leadership burden and staff anxiety, allied health and locum tenens staffing, long-term succession planning support, and seamless agency-to-hire transitions for healthcare organizations.

Their success story at St. Coletta of Greater Washington, a school for children with disabilities, saw our team fill urgent staffing needs within hours, followed by the placement of five nurses for long-term support—transforming a crisis into a lasting partnership. Guided by our tagline, Healers Need Help Too, we combine operational excellence with a deep commitment to service, ensuring healthcare providers are supported, communities are strengthened, and every partnership reflects our values of compassion, integrity, and excellence.
