A Note from the CEO & Co-Founder

A New Year, A Renewed Vision

As we step into 2026, we do so with both reflection and resolve. For many women-owned and minority-led small businesses, 2025 brought real challenges—uncertainty, pivots, and the need to do more with less. Yet through it all, our community showed up, stayed connected, and kept pushing forward.

At Women of Prince George’s, we remain committed to being a source of knowledge, connection, and empowerment. That’s why we’re starting the year strong with our annual Jump Start Your Business event. This year’s theme—"This Is Not Business As Usual"—couldn’t be more timely.

We’ve curated powerful panels, procurement insights, and real-world strategies to help you navigate what’s next with clarity and confidence.

We’re here to make sure you don’t just start 2026—you own it.

With purpose,

Stephanie Bolton James

Business Predicaments

Small Business of the Month

Launched in late 2023, HR Boutique is celebrating its second anniversary of steady growth as a trusted fractional HR consultancy and staffing partner for small and mid-sized organizations. Their people-first approach helps founders and leadership teams build compliant, sustainable operations through HR audits, policy development, recruitment systems, employee relations, performance management, and executive coaching.

Beyond compliance, HR Boutique delivers workforce development programs—like youth job-readiness and trauma-informed initiatives—that uplift underserved communities. Their involvement with WPG events and the Small Business Accelerator has helped them grow visibility and deepen community connections in Prince George’s County.

Looking ahead to 2026, HR Boutique plans to launch a public webinar series, expand youth job-readiness and employer engagement partnerships, and scale HR support for mission-driven clinics, nonprofits, trades, and government contractors. Their priority: helping more small businesses build modern, strategic HR infrastructure while continuing to grow programs that make a community-wide impact.

Ideal clients are founder-led organizations with 5–50 employees in healthcare, nonprofits, construction/trades, or government contracting—especially those seeking a strategic, people-centered HR partner.

Where Is She Now?

Where She Leads Now:

Monique Rose Sneed, CEO

Monique Rose Management

Since my last engagement with Women of Prince George’s, my journey has been marked by three decisive wins: prioritizing the health and well-being of myself and my family, expanding the Rose Purchasing Group with broader industry representation and stronger collaboration, and celebrating two years of La’Caj Seafood—a milestone of resilience, consistency, and community commitment.

My advocacy work has also grown, earning recognition from Senator C. Anthony Muse and Delegate Veronica Turner for my statewide impact—honors that are deeply meaningful. Through Monique Rose Management, my consulting clients' continued success remains my most rewarding accomplishment.

I also launched The Rose Reset, a digital self-care initiative helping women build sustainable, healthy lifestyles while balancing entrepreneurship and everyday life.

WPG has been vital to my growth as a founder, creative, and leader—providing authentic visibility, powerful storytelling platforms, and a community rooted in purpose and support.

Looking ahead, I’m stepping into my first film project—a creative expansion and unexpected acting debut—while exploring meaningful speaking and consulting opportunities for 2026.

Let’s stay connected! Support my work by attending events, sharing initiatives, or exploring collaborations across the restaurant, hospitality, and consulting industries.

Business Dilemma Scenario

A Business Dilemma: Scenario for Group Exercise

Every month, we present a realistic workplace challenge. After reading it aloud, have participants discuss:

  • What’s the core issue?
  • What are the possible actions?
  • What are the risks and consequences?
  • What would they do and why?

Silent Objections

After a decision is made, Trudy—who was silent earlier—raises new objections. The meeting is already overdue.

_______

💬 Discussion Prompt: When is the right time to speak up? How do you manage late-stage objections?

🧠 Suggested Answer to Business Dilemma Scenario

Answer: Trudy should be reminded that objections are most helpful during discussion, not after decisions. The team might revisit the issue briefly or defer it to the next meeting.
