A Note from the CEO & Co-Founder

Spring is bringing fresh energy—and big momentum—to Women of Prince George’s!

We’re looking forward to gathering again at our March14th Dine Around, continuing to strengthen the relationships that make our community so powerful. At the same time, we are in full preparation mode for our 16th Annual WPG Women’s Conference at the stunning Newton White Mansion on May 19th.

This year’s conference will be a dynamic celebration of leadership, entrepreneurship, and collective impact. It also offers meaningful opportunities for businesses and organizations to partner with us through sponsorship at multiple levels. Vendor space is limited, and we encourage early registration to secure your spot.

We’re building something extraordinary—and we invite you to be part of it.

With excitement and purpose,

Stephanie Bolton James

Small Business of the Month

Lisa Harbour, MBA

Real Estate Broker | HER Properties, LLC

Lisa Harbour has expanded HER Properties beyond traditional brokerage into a strategic, relationship-driven real estate ecosystem.

Her recent focus includes multi-unit acquisitions, TOPA transactions in Washington, DC, and creative housing strategies that help families navigate ownership transitions, reposition equity, and preserve long-term wealth. She is also advancing initiatives that support access to voucher housing, intergenerational wealth planning, and real estate education for unmarried couples and women investors.

This past year has been one of elevation, not just in transactions, but in purpose.

New Initiatives & Advocacy

Lisa is building partnerships to stabilize housing opportunities for voucher holders, seniors, foster youth aging out of care, and single mothers—bridging the gap between housing policy and real access. Through her book Unmarried to Real Estate and the upcoming HER ROI Podcast, she is expanding financial literacy and strategic property education. She is also positioning HER Properties as an AI-forward brokerage to enhance data-driven decision-making and client empowerment.

Lisa credits WPG as “a room of alignment,” where collaboration, access, and legacy-building conversations sharpen vision and expand impact.

Why WPG?

“WPG is a connector.”

Entrepreneur Tip of the Month

Focus Area

Sales Funnel & Pricing

Key Tips: Don’t leave sales to chance—build a simple funnel that guides people from interest to purchase. Map your customer journey (how they find you, trust you, and buy), then create clear next steps like a strong call-to-action, an inquiry form, or a booking link. Pair that with pricing that reflects your value: know your costs, set a profit margin, and offer 2–3 tiers (good/better/best) so clients can choose what fits. A clear process and confident pricing makes it easier for customers to say yes—and for you to scale.

Where Is She Now?

Where She Leads Now:

Dr. Jennifer Jones

President & CEO, KyJour International Strategic Business Solutions

A longtime WPG participant and collaborator, Dr. Jennifer Jones continues to expand her impact across the nonprofit, for-profit, and government sectors.

Since JumpStart 2026, KyJour International has secured new contracts and launched two major initiatives: the Black Women’s Embassy Comprehensive Capital Campaign and the Morning Star Global Business Forum. The firm has also established a Maryland-based consultancy to pursue Prince George’s County and state government contracting opportunities and now serves as the Small Business–GovCon–AI Strategist for a national, 10-city marketing network.

Her advocacy work remains central. Following Legislative Day in Annapolis with the Maryland Coalition of NCNW and Win With Black Women, she continues leading the Federal Workers Initiative, helping displaced federal workers pivot with passion and purpose. Additional efforts include research on the impact of Executive Orders on women in Maryland and a High School Completion Initiative addressing the 85,000 adults in Prince George’s County without diplomas.

Dr. Jones credits WPG for expanding her platform beyond community advocacy—highlighting her expertise in government contracting, business development, nonprofit funding, and strategic planning.

Looking ahead, she welcomes opportunities to collaborate with WPG through a pilot event experience focused on wellness, empowerment, and strategic growth for women entrepreneurs.

Business Dilemma Scenario

A Business Dilemma: Scenario for Group Exercise

Every month, we present a realistic workplace challenge. After reading it aloud, have participants discuss:

  • What’s the core issue?
  • What are the possible actions?
  • What are the risks and consequences?
  • What would they do and why?

Scheduling Chaos

Peggy can’t reschedule a meeting because Judy, who sent the invite, is on sick leave.

_______

💬 Discussion Prompt: What’s a better way to manage meeting ownership? How can tools help?

🧠 Suggested Answer to Business Dilemma Scenario

Answer: The team could assign a backup meeting owner or use shared scheduling tools. Judy’s absence shouldn’t stall progress if roles are clearly delegated.

Strength is our legacy. Resilience is our power. Progress is our promise. We rise, we lead, we uplift — and we continue to thrive." Happy Women’s History Month.
