Assisting local Chinese Children's Welfare Institutes by providing pre and post-surgical care to abandoned Chinese orphan babies born with surgically correctable deformities. Shanghai Healing Home provides a home-like environment that meets not only the babies' physical needs but also their emotional and developmental needs.

我们致力于协助中国当地的福利机构发展, 为需要进行手术矫正畸形的弃婴提供术前及术后看护。新生命之家不断努力为宝宝们营造家一般的成长环境, 在满足他们的物质需求的同时, 也尽力满足他们的情感需求和社会需求。

The Shanghai Healing Home is funded 100% by the generous donations of our sponsors and one-time donors. We are very grateful to accept monetary or in-kind donations of any amount and form. A list of in-kind needs can be found on our website. Below are suggested sponsorship plans if you or a group of your friends would like to fully sponsor the cost of one baby's daily expenses.

How Can I Help?

Many people are asking us lately, "what can I do to help?". Right now, SHH is in need of new Baby Sponsorships. To date, we have a total of 12 fully sponsored babies and another 12 needing sponsorship. Baby sponsorships are a huge part of being able to pay the monthly expenses and care for the children. Even before we can pay for their medical needs and surgeries, we need to be able to pay for their daily needs in the home.

最近有很多人问我们，"我能帮到你们什么？"而现在，上海医治之家的宝贝们非常需要大家的帮助。目前为止，我们有12个全额赞助的孩子，还有12个孩子需要大家资助。在这个资助中，有很大一部分是给孩子提供每个月需要的费用和关怀。所以在我们支付孩子的医疗费用之前，我们需先提供给孩子日常用品。

Orientation meeting attendance is required for all first time visitors. Meetings are offered in Chinese and English.

The whole month of December was full of Christmas celebrations. Thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors who helped make this Christmas season a very special time for the children and staff at SHH!!!

Medical Need

医疗需求

We currently have two medical needs that we need to raise money for at SHH. One is for our little Pu FX who needs to have some extensive dental work done. The cost for the dental work is estimated to be 7500 RMB (approximately $1,107 USD).

我们目前有两个医疗需求需要为新生命之家筹款。一个是Pu FX，他需要做一些宽泛的牙科诊治，牙科工作的费用估计为7500元人民币（约合1,107美元）。

The second need is for our little Liang XY. We are thankful that he was able to receive the surgery he needed to have a more permanent type of feeding tube put in but now we need to rent an enteral feeding pump to control and regulate the continuous feedings he receives. The rent for the machine is around

1440 RMB/month (approximately $213 USD/month) .

Every morning our older kids ask if we will have class today. Whether rain or shine our kids are always so excited to go class.每天早上我们的孩子都会问今天我们上课吗？不管天气是下雨还是天晴我们的孩子总是很对上课很兴奋。

While they just love going to class in general, their favorite part of class has always been the play time and craft time...especially if it involves Play Doh. Thanks to one of our adoptive families that visited and brought donations from the States, we have plenty of Play doh for many more play times to come!虽然他们常常看上去喜欢上课，但他们最喜欢的课程一直是游戏时间和手工时间......特别是如果它涉及玩橡皮泥的时候。感谢我们的一个收养家庭访问并带来了来自美国的捐赠，我们有足够的橡皮泥来进行更多的游戏时间！

We could really use a couple of regular volunteers to come out Monday through Friday to help tutor some of our older kids in English. If this is something you would be interested in helping us with, then please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Jessica, at [email protected].

Reminder to our volunteers

Winter is here and with it comes the dreaded cold and flu season. The staff at SHH would like to remind individuals and groups to be especially careful when visiting the Home during the cold and flu season. Please double check on the day of your visit that no one in your group is sick...even if someone is not running a fever but has a cough, congestion/runny nose, or sore throat we would ask that that individual not visit the Home because if one of our kids gets sick they will all get sick. At SHH we have to be even more cautious with our kids then you might be with a healthy child because many of our children have weakened immune systems because of their medical problem. So it is easier for our children to get really sick and end up in the hospital or ICU just because they get a cold or the flu.

Lots of handwashing is especially important to protect our children and yourself from infection. Please be sure to use the alcohol hand sanitizer or soap & water when cleaning your hands. There also may be some extra restrictions for playing with the children when you visit depending on the health condition of our children the time of your visit so please check with us before going into the playrooms.

冬天已经来了，伴随着可怕的感冒和流感季节。新生命之家的工作人员想提醒个人和团体在感冒和流感季节访问新生命之家时请格外留心。请在您的访问当天仔细检查您的团队中是否有人生病......即使有人没有发烧但有咳嗽，充血/流鼻涕或喉咙痛，我们会要求该人暂时不要访问新生命之家，因为如果我们中的一个孩子生病，其余孩子也会生病。在新生命之家，我们要对我们的孩子更加谨慎。您的家中可能会有一个非常健康的孩子，然而新生命之家的许多孩子因为他们的医治问题而免疫系统减弱。因此，我们的孩子更容易生病，哪怕只是因为感冒或流感也可能最终会住进医院或ICU。

频繁洗手对于保护我们的孩子和自己免受感染尤为重要。清洁双手时，请务必使用酒精洗手液或肥皂水。根据我们孩子们的健康状况，您在访问时可能会有一些额外的限制与孩子一起玩，所以请在进入游戏室之前与我们联系。
