Boogie Back to Texas
Wednesday, 6-7 PM Americana
You have heard Boogie Back host Geoff Fletcher use the term Americana a lot if you listen regularly, but what is this “genre?” Tune in to hear the official – and wordy – definition from the Americana Music Association, or better yet, listen to songs from Texas musicians that have been nominated for song of the year by the AMA. There is a bit of a bluegrass feel from Sarah Jarosz and The Gourds, and some smoky dark songs from Lee Ann Womack and Buddy Miller. Rodney Crowell and Lucinda Williams get political and Hayes Carll laments that She Left Me for Jesus. Other love songs come from Steve Earle and The Highwomen. That list doesn’t define it, but the lyrics and the sounds of the songs do. Gotta listen.

Sunday Silence
Sunday, 11 – Midnight
Etymologies
This episode of SUNDAY SILENCE explores the desires woven into the tissue of our words—those strange, beautiful, sometimes terrifying forces that bind and undo us; a meditation, a lingering: on radical longing, on possession as presence beyond ownership, on the gateways the curiosity of our passion opens between us. From the ecstatic vulnerability of devotion, this hour is a love avant la lettre—a gesture, not a demand—dedicated to the you that calls us back, again and again, to find, to be found. Featuring Fuya Fuya & Entrañas, Mica Levi, and Areliz Ramos.
