Pies & Rhubarb
Hosts Linda Nygaard and Tom Conway had to postpone last week's show, but they are making up for it this week! They have both been busy experimenting in the kitchen, As pie bakers, they love to share new thoughts about how to make a beautiful pie, and in this episode, a couple of new revelations will help ensure your pies are as delicious as they can be. This spring season, the gardens are starting to pop, too. Rhubarb is ready and juicy. Linda is a rhubarb purist but she will also share with you one of her favorite, rather odd, recipes for rhubarb. Tom has long since stopped baking rhubarb strawberry pie because he, too, thinks rhubarb stands on its own quite well. Tom has been trying out different recipes for waffles and has a story or two to tell about his discoveries including successes and failures.
You might want to treat yourself to an hour of friendly chat about all things kitchen, cooking, food, and gardening. So, pull up a chair, sip something good, and give a listen as these two banter their way through the hour, all the while knowing there is always more to say.

Dallas Musicians
Austin claims to be the Music Capital of the World, and there are a lot of great musicians who have, do and will hail from there. But don’t forget Dallas and especially Deep Ellum. We have some slightly old but worthy earworms from Trini Lopez and B.W. Stephenson and pop from Lisa Loeb and Selena Gomez with Zedd. Gotta have some drama with Meatloaf and Cher. Classic rock shows up courtesy of Steve Miller, Boz Scaggs and Stephen Stills. You can’t beat the blues of T-Bone Walker and Freddie King both talking about Chicago. Best friends Doyle Bramhall, Jimmy Vaughan and Stevie Ray Vaughn each deliver powerful songs. Have you ever seen Dallas from a DC-9 at night? Dallas is a jewel; Dallas is a beautiful sight.

Odd Commonalities
What do the movies "Forrest Gump" and "Pulp Fiction" have in common?
Answer: Aside from the fact that they were both released in 1994 a few weeks apart, they both were nominated for Best Picture and have incredible sound tracks.
These movies are the theme of this coming First Thursday Morning Scramble with "Clutch" Craig Beles & Mike "Granny" Nichols. We'll play them from Forrest Gump's "Hound Dog" to "Against the Wind" and Pulp Fiction's "Misirlou" to "Surf Rider."

Atmospheric Rivers
Saturday, 9-11 PM
A Tribute to Vinyl Relics
Some podcasts inform. Some entertain. And then there's Vinyl Relics, hosted by the incomparable Farmer John — a show that reaches into the dusty corners of recorded history and pulls out something that makes you wonder how you ever lived without it. This Saturday, Atmospheric Rivers pays tribute with a selection of tracks from albums Farmer John has championed on his outstanding program, one that gives new meaning to the term "deep dive": the Celtic twilight of Mellow Candle, the transcendent eastern drift of Shanti, Merrell Fankhauser and HMS Bounty riding their psychedelic surf, Ruth Copeland's raw gospel fire, Michael Chapman navigating the open skies of Aviator, the raw Pacific Northwest garage fury of The Sonics, May Blitz laying down heavy psych thunder, Mighty Baby's loose and luminous groove, Honeybus spinning pure melodic gold, and Thunderclap Newman reminding us that something is very much in the air. It's a lot of ground to cover, and we're just getting started!
