1975 Funk Tunes

So what music were you listening to in 1975? Pop, rock, disco, country…jazz, classical? Or funk? It’s been 10 years since the funk genre was “born” and the 70’s were supposedly funk music’s “golden years”. See what you think.

Tune in or visit  the TGIF Show page. Take the TGIF test to see how many of these funky tunes you remember from way-back-when. We’ll be checking out songs from some of those classic bands, like Graham Central Station, Kool & the Gang, The Isley Brothers, War, The Bar-Kays, The Ohio Players, just to name a few…and, of course, James Brown!

It’ll be a funky good time so check it out!

Dear God... It's an XTC Tribute!

Get ready to spiral through a wormhole of wit, melody, and manic pop thrill — this episode is a meta-tribute to the brilliant, beguiling, and utterly singular XTC. We’re dialing into the frequencies that shaped them, and the artists who caught the XTC bug and ran with it. From post-punk jitters to kaleidoscopic psych, angular pop to pastoral English daydreams, it’s all here — including deep cuts, beloved bangers, and a Technicolor detour with their psychedelic alter-egos, The Dukes of Stratosphear. Expect melodies with elbows, lyrics with bite, and a playlist that zigzags gloriously through the XTC multiverse.
