2022 NILA PRESIDENTS SUMMIT
It was an inspiring, productive time last week at the 2022 NILA Presidents Summit! We had 182 chapter presidents, regional leaders, board members, sponsors, and staff show up in Orlando for four days. A more formal wrap-up is coming later, but for now check out the quick recap video from Day One!
2021-2022 SHPE CHAPTER AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED!
Through twice a year assessment, chapter leaders report their activity, impact, and lessons learned. Based on evaluations of those assessments, SHPE acknowledges chapter excellence through three awards: National, Regional, and Blue Chip Chapter Awards. The 2021-2022 winners are here! Congratulations to these chapters for making the SHPE mission a reality in their communities.

Kudos to SHPE's Senior Director of Conference & Events, Nicole Knoderer, CMP, for being named a "2022 Meetings Trendsetter" by Meetings Today magazine. The Google U.S. Policy Fellowship program offers undergrad and grad students interested in Internet and technology policy the opportunity to work at public interest organizations at the forefront of debates on tech policy issues. If you are a student who is passionate about technology, and want to spend the semester diving headfirst into Internet policy, then be sure to apply by August 12.

Are you a parent or guardian of a K-12 student with an interest in STEM? We're offering a fun, free Equipando Padres workshop about The Summer Before College just for you. Join us on Wednesday, August 17, from 7-8pm ET to learn how you can best support and encourage your child to succeed in STEM. The workshop will be offered in both English and Spanish.

We had 312 responses to our question "How many languages do you speak fluently?" While 17% of you said 1, the vast majority, at 53%, said you speak 2 languages. Another 17% speak 3 or more. And 13% stated that "It's complicated." #themoreyouknow
