LIVESTREAM OF FUNERAL SERVICE FOR ROD GARCIA
The service for SHPE Founder Rod Garcia will be held from 3pm – 4pm with a graveside service from 4-5pm on Saturday, July 23 at the Skyrose Chapel & Mausoleum (Rose Hills Cemetery) in Whittier, CA, followed by a Celebration of Life at Cal State LA.

The service will be live-streamed via Zoom for all those who cannot attend in person.

Do you know a K-12 student with an interest in STEM? We're offering a fun, free "night of science" or noche de ciencias on Wednesday, August 17, from 7-9pm ET for K-12 pre-college students. The first 120 to sign up will receive a free KiwiCo kit.

SHPE WELCOMES MARIANA ACUNA DELGADO TO THE STAFF
Please join us in welcoming Mariana Acuña Delgado to the SHPE staff as Senior Associate, Government Relations. Mariana has a background in working with Congressional leaders and government relations advocacy, which will be very critical to SHPE becoming a key influencer in Capitol Hill. Her experience at ArentFox Schiff and the U.S. Senate will be an asset to our team.

JAY FLORES ON THE AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR SEMI-FINALS
Lifetime member Jay Flores appeared in the semi-final round of American Ninja Warrior on NBC this past Monday evening. The show boasts "elite athletes from around the country compete on the world's most difficult obstacle courses." The episode is available now to watch on Hulu. Congratulations to Jay on a remarkable run!
