SHPE MEMBER ON COVER OF RE-ENGINEER MAGAZINE
SHPE Member Guadalupe "Lupe" Perez graced the cover of the summer issue of Re-Engineer! In it she is highlighted as a the "You Can Be An Engineer" feature. She discusses her journey from growing up on a small Mexican ranch to becoming a Program Manager at The Boeing Company. She credits SHPE for showing her that anything is possible!

INTERNSHPE WITH MEDTRONIC
Medtronic has partnered with SHPE to provide a variety of InternSHPE opportunities that include personalized support to help students excel from day one. This past summer we were excited to help 31 Medtronic interns and are now accepting candidates for the 2023 cohort! Applications are due by 7am ET September 21.
PASSPORT TO DOW CAREERS
Join us on Tuesday, September 20 at 7pm ET for our next installment of Passport to DOW Careers. We will be featuring two speakers from DOW, Andre Argenton, Chief Sustainability Officer and Vice President of EH&S, and Erika Vergara, Senior Business Quality Leader. They will discuss their journeys and experiences as Hispanic leaders. There will also be Q&A at the end of the event.

WORDS MATTER: ON THE DEBATE OVER FREE SPEECH
Join us September 15 at 7pm ET for our next #SHPEReads: GRADS Edition. Author and presenter John M. Herbert, will discuss his work Words Matter: On the Debate over Free Speech, Inclusivity, and Academic Excellence. Professor Herbert is a quantum chemist and faculty member at Ohio State University. All SHPE members that register, attend, and participate in the meeting will receive a $30 DOORDASH gift card!

CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH WITH NOCHE DE CIENCIAS
Do you know a K-12 student with an interest in STEM? Someone who enjoys creating things with their hands? Who wants to pursue a future in STEM or is interested in learning about engineering and science? Since it's Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re offering multiple, free "nights of science" for K-12 pre-college students. Join us for this major celebration. Check out the dates and times below!
