REGISTER NOW FOR THE NEXT #SHPEREADS

Join us virtually on May 17 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm ET for a lively discussion around our next topic, Hidden Curriculum in Engineering, with Dr. Idalis Villanueva Alarcón, an Associate Professor in the Engineering Education Department at the University of Florida. SHPE graduate members that register, attend, and participate will receive a $30 DoorDash gift card.
REGION 1 TACO TUESDAY

Come join the Region 1 Horchata and Charla series with a Taco Tuesday theme. The event will take place on April 26 at 6 pm PT for a night of tacos and lots of fun. In queso you were wondering, we are giving away $15 gift cards for the first 10 people who register AND attend the event. (Open to all Region 1, but priority given to Graduate students.)

REGION 6 END OF SEMESTER VIRTUAL SOCIAL

If you want to network with graduate students before you need to hunker down for finals, please join the Region 6 Graduate Committee on April 28 from 6-7 pm CT! More details to follow, but we will be raffling $10 gift cards!
MIND YOUR HEALTH: IMPOSTER SYNDROME

Does it seem like everyone around you has life figured out? Do you feel like an imposter? Imposter syndrome is extremely prevalent in graduate school, especially among underrepresented groups. Join Region 1 and 4 for the May GRADient mental health event on May 4 at 7pm ET. Learn about the types of imposter syndrome and have a casual conversation with a panel of graduate students these unique challenges.
KNOW ANY K-12 STUDENTS THAT ARE THE FIRST TO GO TO COLLEGE?

Do you know a K-12 student who will be one of the first in their family to go to college? SHPE is excited to partner with Bechtel to bring First Generation, pre-college students a fun, free, and virtual "night of science" or noche de ciencias on Monday, May 9, from 7-9pm ET! Science kits for the hands-on activity will be provided to the first 120 students to sign up by April 19.
