#SHPEREADS GRADS: THE HIDDEN COMPETENCIES OF ENGINEERING GRAD SCHOOL

Join us July 12 at 2PM ET for our next #SHPEReads: GRADS Edition. Author and presenter, Catherine G.P. Berdanier, will be discussing her work entitled Surviving, Thriving, Departing, and the Hidden Competencies of Engineering Graduate School. All SHPE members that register, attend, and participate in the meeting will receive a $30 DOORDASH gift card!

SAVE THE DATE: JULY 12 NEW MENTORSHPE PROGRAM

MentorSHPE is launching a new program to support students applying for graduate school in STEM fields! This program will provide students with a mentor to help coach and guide them through the application process during the Fall 2022 semester. Mentees can also choose to continue participation in the Spring 2023 semester to prepare for graduate school interviews. The program opens July 12. PHD POSITION OPEN AT VILLANOVA FOR FALL 2022

SHPE is partnering with Dr. David Cereceda on an NSF grant to help him share his research with SHPE members and to bring Hispanic role models to his classes. Dr. Cereceda has a fully-funded PhD position available in Mechanical Engineering starting in Fall 2022 at Villanova.

PHD POSITION OPEN AT UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA FOR FALL/SPRING 2023

The University of Florida Department of Engineering Education offers an interdisciplinary approach to STEM, and currently has a PhD position open. This position will conduct educational research to inform evidence-based practice in an engineering context through core courses in engineering education, experiential learning, and graduate work in disciplinary concentration. Applications are currently being accepted.
