Message From the President
April Showers bring May Flowers - how does your garden grow? If it were only that simple! Contributed by Danielle Maxwell, Communications Committee Member & Social Media Chair

I was on the phone with a co-worker when he stopped mid-sentence and asked, "Do you have a bird?"

2020 Missouri HR Day of Service Update
While the coronavirus pandemic has forced us to alter our plans, the 2020 Missouri HR Day of Service is still moving forward and we hope you can find some way to participate!

  • Our May 1, 2020 event has been cancelled.
  • Additionally, our featured discussion, "Ferguson: Six Years Later" has been postponed until later in the fall. Our intent is to keep this as an in-person event as soon as our meeting restrictions have been lifted.

In the meantime, there are a few volunteer opportunities available for SHRM St. Louis members that we encourage you to check out!
  • If you are interested in volunteering with United Way, please visit www.stlvolunteer.org.
  • Food shortages are a critical concern for our region during the pandemic. In response, SHRM St. Louis is also hosting a virtual food drive on behalf of STL Foodbank! Please check out the virtual food drive that has been set up under the name of MO HR Day of Service from now through May 1st.

We hope that our members consider continuing SHRM St. Louis' phenomenal spirit of volunteerism by participating in one of these opportunities!
