Women's Equality: The Ongoing Suffragette!
Contributed by MT & Associates | Sign Language Interpreting, Inclusion & Diversity Committee

It's a...baby!" Working women face challenges regarding pregnancy and childcare every day. It is so normal, often times we forget the importance of inclusion for women in these situations. With Women's Equality Day on 8/26 and National Breastfeeding Awareness Month throughout August, we are reminded to celebrate what women bring to the workforce. Beyond simply the laws of access required such as FMLA, what diverse familial backgrounds do your employees and coworkers share on a daily basis? How can you make their lives just a little bit easier so they can continue to be super mom AND super staff? Women face a difficult balance in continuing to work while taking care of their little ones due to added stress, work/life stability, and financial strain. Check out my recent personal experience with pregnancy and balancing my work load as a sign language interpreter. Click here to read more.
