We Are Sharing Hope SC hosts inaugural "Pickleball for Hope" fundraising tournament

By centering the event around pickleball, one of the nation’s fastest-growing sports, SHSC engaged a diverse audience while raising funds and educating the public on the impact organ and tissue donation can have on so many people’s lives.

Team SC just broke a world record you (probably) never heard of

Team SC helped set a new Guinness World Record for most solid organ transplant recipients and most living donors in one place with a total of 966.

Safety & Emergency Management Training (EMT) Now Available

As we are in the process of refreshing our volunteer program, we want to ensure that all volunteers are informed with the necessary safety policies and procedures in case of an emergency while volunteering at a SHSC office. All volunteers are required to complete this training before being onsite at an SHSC facility and will be asked to complete before returning.

The EMT Volunteer Training PowerPoint is now accessible on VolunteerHub. Once you log into your account, it will be the first item displayed on your screen. Please complete the training as soon as you can to stay informed and ready to support our mission.

Pickleball for Hope

Thank you to everyone who came out for our inaugural Pickleball for Hope tournament! The day was filled with friendly competition, bringing together donor families, transplant recipients, community members, sponsors and volunteers in support of our mission.

As SHSC’s 2026 annual fundraiser, proceeds from the tournament will support community education efforts, helping raise awareness about the life-saving impact of organ, eye and tissue donation across South Carolina. Thank you to everyone who helped make Pickleball for Hope a success!

SHSC was honored to participate in Ideal Funeral Parlor's Community Day. It was an inspiring day focused on unity, wellness and bringing the community together. Everyone who stopped by our table shared their stories and learned how they can help save and enhance lives through the gift of donation.

First Tee Greater Charleston Presentation

Through the First Tee Greater Charleston Pathfinder Immersion Program Summer Camp, SHSC had the chance to educate 10th - 12th grade students about donation.

Charleston County Educator Symposium

SHSC attended the Charleston County Educator Symposium at the Bonds-Wilson School of the Arts/Academic Magnet Campus, connecting with educators, administrators and district leaders from across Charleston County.

Ollie Johnson Memorial Annual Health Fair

At the Ollie Johnson Memorial I-95 Health Fair in Santee, SHSC connected with community members to raise awareness about our mission.

The event offered free health screenings, wellness resources and health education, helping expand access to preventive care and information for communities along the

I-95 corridor.

Heroes for Hope volunteer Debra W., a two-time kidney recipient, tabled at the United by an Organ family celebration, sharing more about the gift of a second chance. The event honored donor hero Sheryl J.-P. and her brother, kidney recipient Willie L.

SHSC 5th Annual Community Health Fair

During National Multicultural Donor Awareness Month, SHSC hosts our annual Community Health Fair. The event is dedicated to raising awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation, as well as providing education and resources that enable our community to be proactive in their mental and physical health. We provide back-to-school supplies, free health screenings, nutritional information, family-focused activities, giveaways and more.

Transplant Recipient Virtual Correspondence Workshop

This informative session will cover the basics of communicating with your donor’s family, including guidelines for the correspondence process and understanding its impact.
