Congrats Amanda Sapp!

#WeAre excited to share that our very own Amanda Sapp (Senior Director of Finance) has been named a 2026 SCBIZ Leaders in Business & Finance honoree.

Only 26 individuals across South Carolina were selected for this recognition, which honors financial professionals making a meaningful impact within their organizations, professions and communities through leadership, service and excellence. Amanda's leadership, integrity and dedication to our mission continue to strengthen the lifesaving work we do every day across South Carolina.

We are incredibly grateful for all that she does for SHSC and this recognition is so well deserved. Please join us in congratulating Amanda on this incredible honor!

Safety & Emergency Management Training (EMT) Now Available

As we are in the process of refreshing our volunteer program, we want to ensure that all volunteers are informed with the necessary safety policies and procedures in case of an emergency while volunteering at a SHSC office. All volunteers are required to complete this training before being onsite at an SHSC facility and will be asked to complete before returning.

The EMT Volunteer Training PowerPoint is now accessible on VolunteerHub. Once you log into your account, it will be the first item displayed on your screen. Please complete the training as soon as you can to stay informed and ready to support our mission.

If you have any questions please reach out to Chasity B. (Community Events Coordinator) at benjaminc@sharinghopesc.org. Thank you for your commitment!

Donor Remembrance Ceremony

This year's Donor Remembrance Ceremony was a day of remembrance, gratitude and love. Our Donor Family Services team poured their hearts into every detail, creating a beautiful space to honor our donor heroes from 2023-2025.

Families came together to share stories and memories, laughs and tears and find comfort through connection and community. We were honored to hear inspiring reflections from Cameron, husband of donor hero Toby, and two of Toby's recipient families, Lisa and Tyila. Their stories are powerful reminders of the lasting legacies and meaningful connections the gift of organ, eye and tissue donation can create. We were also moved by a special performance by Unbound Dance Company, whose beautiful dance honored love, loss and healing.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. Your presence and support continue to make a difference and strengthen our incredible community.

Carolina Pines Lunch & Learn

We were proud to join Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center for a Lunch & Learn about organ, eye and tissue donation. Madison K. (Donation Program Manager) shared the truth behind common myths and misconceptions surrounding donation, the countless lives impacted by donation and the support available to families throughout the journey.

Greater Florence Chamber

of Commerce

We are honored to be a part of the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce! SHSC staff and chamber ambassadors attended our official ribbon-cutting ceremony in Florence, SC. We are looking forward to continuing to build our relationships in the Pee Dee region to further the mission of organ, eye and tissue donation.

Carolina Forest High School Presentation

Calista J. (Communications Coordinator I) had a great time speaking with students at Carolina Forest High School about the incredible impact of organ, eye and tissue donation. Educating the next generation is essential to building a future where more lives are saved and more families find hope through donation.

Heroes Unite

SHSC was invited to participate in Heroes Unite, hosted by the Range Fore Hope Foundation, to honor local first responders and military personnel while raising awareness for donation. We connected with Brittany D., a kidney recipient who received her life-saving transplant in January 2026. Brittany shared her inspiring transplant story with attendees and paid tribute to her pediatric donor hero whose generous gift made her second chance at life possible.

Bible Way Church

SHSC participated in Family and Friends Day at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road. The event welcomed both church members and greater Richland County community for a day of fellowship, education and inspiration.

We were honored to be invited by the family of donor hero Ian T., to raise awareness about donation and share Ian's inspiring story. Ian saved the lives of five individuals through donation, including one direct donation to a family member. Ian's story serves as a moving reminder of the life-saving impact of organ, eye and tissue donation.
