Message from President
Billie Araiza
Greetings!

It’s so wonderful to see the blue skies again! I’m so grateful that they are getting the wildfires contained and we are able to start returning to a sense of normalcy. Unfortunately, for those who have lost their homes and/or loved ones to the fires, there will be no sense of normalcy for them for quite some time. Please continue to keep the fire evacuees in your thoughts and prayers. Our Ad Hoc Bear Fire Committee has dedicated many hours to helping those who were affected by the fires.

On a happier note, how great was that to have Megan from Arc as a guest speaker at club last week? We have so many wonderful organizations in Butte County that are continuing to provide support for those who need it the most. I feel so proud to be part of a community that cares about everyone regardless of who you are or where you came from. We are one big diversified community and I am so pleased that Soroptimist has such a long history of giving back to our community and helping shape its success.

With Gratitude,

President Billie

Governor Sarah's Message

Hello,

October is a special month, on the 3rd we began the 99th year of Soroptimist. This is the beginning of our journey towards the 100th year. I would like us, as a Region, to do something special to mark the 100th Year. I heard that a Region in another Federation is having their clubs plant 100 trees before 10-3-2021. I am looking for ideas, we have 55 clubs and if each club did one thing twice we would make an impact in celebrating the 100th Celebration. Please email me any ideas you have at snrgovernor@soroptimistsnr.org.

Please join us for the Second Board Meeting of the 2020-2021 Biennium via Zoom on Sunday October 25, 2020 at 9:00 am. For everyone’s amusement we will be celebrating Halloween, so wear your best costume (Call and Tentative Agenda)

Continue to stay safe!

Governor Sarah

STOP Trafficking

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I suggest that you go online and read “My Sisters House” Newsletter. There are three articles, one on Domestic Violence, another on COVID-19 and the last on Massage Parlors. All three deal with the status of many women during our modern times.

Stay safe and healthy.

Joanne Tremelling
STOP Trafficking Committee member covering Northeast California
President Elect Sara Beacham is happy for the past several weeks of programs and for our members getting together via Zoom at our regular meetings.
Happy $$$$ are here again

If you just feel happy to be a Soroptimist, send us a small token of your joy, $5 or $10 or $20. Share good news and special moments.

Since we aren’t meeting for lunch these days, you’re saving $16 a week, $48 saved each month. Please consider donating some of those savings back to the club.

We will need help for future in club resources for this year, so please, please give generously.
