Dear Parents, 

We started the week with a family Havdalah, where our students said “Goodbye” to Shabbat and brought in the new week! A big thank you to Miss. Elyssa Brinn for ushering in the new week in such a wonderful way! We also enjoyed a wonderful Lag B’Omer (Field Day) celebration on Tuesday. Thank you so much Mr. Leiderman and Miss Brinn for planning and organizing such a wonderful day.  

Please join us this Friday, May 12, 2023 for our First Grade Siddur Presentation at 1:30pm.  We are so excited for our first graders as they reach this milestone in their educational journey.

The Student Government Association campaigning continues this week with  SGA speeches and voting taking place this Thursday, May 11 and Friday, May 12, 2023.  We are all looking forward to the election results!

Tuesday, May 23, 2023 is our Fifth Grade Exhibition!  The Exhibition is the culminating, collaborative experience in the final year of the IB Primary Years program.  Students will explore, document and share their understanding of an issue or opportunity that is significant for each student.

Family Pizza Picnic

On Thursday, May 4th, 2023, the SIA community came together for our annual Family Pizza Picnic! Everyone enjoyed delicious pizza, sweet Kona ice treats, some great music and face painting! The Pasta-bilities are Endless!

Setting goals and acquiring new skills are at the heart of Kindergarten. This year each student in Mrs. Baker’s Kindergarten class set a goal that they sought to attain with the help of their class community. On Friday, May 5th 2023, students in Mrs. Baker’s kindergarten class helped their classmate Meirav Warren accomplish her goal of making homemade tortellini. The students were so proud of what they had made. The best part was that the students all collaborated to help Meirav accomplish her goal! It was tortelly awesome!

JFS Run, Roll, Stroll

Team Tiger brought home the trophy from the Jewish Family Service of Tidewater's Run, Roll, Stroll event on Sunday, May 7th, 2023! Our tigers enjoyed warming up with Zumba, face painting, balloon animals and a one mile fun run. Congratulations to all participants, everyone did great!

EY Family Havdalah

On Monday, May 8th, 2023, the Early Years community welcomed a new week with a Havdalah family sing-a-long! We sang, danced, lit the Havdalah candle, blessed the wine and smelled sweet spices!

Lag B'Omer

On Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, we held our annual field day in honor of Lag B'Omer! Classroom spirit was high, the weather was gorgeous, and our foam party was rocking! Our students had so much fun playing with bubbles, finger painting, playing tug-of-war and so much more! It was a perfect day at SIA! Click here to see more pictures from Field Day!
