SIA School Newsletter

February 14, 2023

Dear Parents,

Last week our students celebrated our 100th day of school!  Our students dressed up as 100 year old’s and spent their day participating in 100th day activities such as making 100 day crowns, jumping for 100 seconds, playing games to count to 100, reading 100 CVC words and so much more! Our first graders enjoyed dressing up for the 101th day of school today! Our 101 dalmatians were pawsitively pawfect! The students had a wonderful time completing 101-day activities with our newly adopted “dalmatians”. A special thank you to all of our amazing EY4, Kindergarten and First grade teachers!

We are so excited, Evening of the Arts: How We Express Ourselves performance is this Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 6:00pm. Students in grades EY4-5th Grade will perform songs, dances, poetry, a wax museum and so much more! Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Don’t forget to Re-enroll by 15, 2023! Please check Parent Square for important information and instructions to re-enroll through FACTS for the 2023-2024 school year. All re-enrollment contracts are due by Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Every few years Strelitz International Academy seeks more formal input from its constituents in order to maintain its tradition of providing all students with an excellent International Baccalaureate education in a warm and caring atmosphere.  Although we always encourage feedback, it has been 4 years since formal surveys were done. Committees developing the school's long range goals require current data to ensure that the expectations of its constituents are being met. In addition, as part of the school’s accreditation process, we are once again surveying parents, trustees, faculty and staff, and students in grades 4 and 5.

The survey response is anonymous and an outside service tabulates the responses for us. Information concerning gender and grade level of students will enable the school to better analyze the information. We request your participation in completing this survey which covers the areas of curriculum, climate, and other student services and activities.

A link to the Parent survey will be posted in ParentSquare Tuesday, February 21, 2023. It is urgent that the survey be completed by Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Thank you for your prompt and thoughtful response.

Just a reminder, we are closed Monday, February 20, 2023 in observance of Presidents’ Day. Below you will see some reminders for next week.

Wishing you a wonderful rest of your week!

SIA Annual Donor Fund

Recently we held our Parent and Faculty Campaign to raise funds for our Annual Donor Fund. The SIA Annual Donor Fund is the primary vehicle for financially supporting Strelitz International Academy (SIA).

SIA depends on support from current and alumni parents and grandparents, faculty, trustees along with friends in the extended community who believe in SIA’s mission, to meet the school’s operating expenses, enrich the student experience, and ensure financial sustainability.

By making a tax-deductible donation to Strelitz International Academy, you will be joining with others to make a difference in the everyday lives of Strelitz’s students and faculty.
