Dear Parents,

Students in Primary years opened the week with a Stem Olympics Day!  Students in grades K-5 took part in science, technology, engineering and math activities all day long! A special thank you to our amazing third grade teacher, Mrs. Anglen for organizing this for our students!

SIA is also celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday from February 27-March 3, 2023! Each day of Dr. Seuss’s birthday week, the library will be raffling off Dr. Seuss items as we participate in Read Across America. Thank you to Mrs. Garbers, SIA Librarian, for organizing the week of events in honor of Dr. Seuss!

We are looking forward to celebrating Purim next Tuesday, March 7. Purim is a festive holiday which commemorates the saving of the Jewish people of Persia from Haman. The students will be participating in celebratory activities during school. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in costume.

STEM DAY

Primary Years Strelitz students participated in SIA STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Math) Day. From Bobsledding to Basketball, each event began by learning about the forces involved in the sport. Each event engaged students in hands-on activities that used collaboration and problem solving. Students drew conclusions about the science behind the sports and participated in the engineering and design process to replicate the impact of potential and kinetic energy based on speed, distance, gravity, and motion. Students had fun building usable models of bobsleds, basketball hoops, ice hockey rinks, Alpine skiing courses, ski jumps, and a timeline of technology advancements in sports. SIA Winter Stem Olympics 2023, definitely took the gold! A special thank you to our amazing third grade teacher, Mrs. Anglen for organizing this for our students!

SIA Annual Donor Fund

Recently we held our Parent and Faculty Campaign to raise funds for our Annual Donor Fund. The SIA Annual Donor Fund is the primary vehicle for financially supporting Strelitz International Academy (SIA).

SIA depends on support from current and alumni parents and grandparents, faculty, trustees along with friends in the extended community who believe in SIA’s mission, to meet the school’s operating expenses, enrich the student experience, and ensure financial sustainability.

By making a tax-deductible donation to Strelitz International Academy, you will be joining with others to make a difference in the everyday lives of Strelitz’s students and faculty.
